EATING ON CAMPUS

There are plenty of great places to sit and have a coffee with friends around the campus.

Arriving at CIC

Pre Departure

Becoming familiar with Perth's culture and CIC before leaving home is important to ensure your time at CIC is both successful and enjoyable. CIC has developed a pre-departure guide to make settling in as smooth as possible.

To download a copy of the CIC Pre-Departure Guide 2008, visit our Brochure Downloads page.

Airport Pick Up & Transfer

International students arriving for the first time are met at the airport, free of charge, and transferred to their accommodation. Students wishing to use this service should advise CIC or their local agent in writing (fax or email) well in advance of arrival.

To book this free service, please fill in the Airport Pick & Transfer Application Form (pdf).

Orientation

All new students must attend an orientation program, conducted one week prior to the beginning of the trimester or semester. Orientation provides crucial information and advice that will assist you in adjusting to the living and learning environment at CIC on the Curtin campus.

Along with official enrolment and information sessions, the orientation program gives you an opportunity to meet fellow students and key staff with whom you will relate regularly during your studies.

Cultural, English, Mathematics and Computing Workshops are provided free during Orientation Week. Some workshops continue through the first weeks of trimester.

Student Mentors

The CIC Mentoring Program consists of Student Mentors who are in charge of 10 or 12 new CIC students during Orientation week and the early weeks of every trimester. All new students are assigned a CIC Mentor who acts as a guide during orientation, like a big brother or sister.

CIC Mentors exchange contact details with their group and help enrol students online at Orientation. The Student Advisor works closely with Student Mentors and can assist them with any problems that may arise.
